What is an Essential Caregiver?

An essential caregiver is defined as a family member or other outside caregiver, including a friend, volunteer, private personal caregiver or court appointed guardian, who is at least 18 years of age and has been designated by the resident or legal representative to provide regular care and support to a resident.

Minimizing Transmission of COVID-19

These visits are personal interactions between a resident and 1 designated essential caregiver at a time with no physical distancing required. All visits are by appointment only. ALL VISITORS MUST HAVE A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST RESULT. A COVID-19 test will be provided prior to entering the building. Visitors will be required to wear masks and, in some cases, even a face shield. These will be provided by Colonial Pines.
